Amy, do you know Stuart Dybek’s short story collection, The Coast of Chicago? You might enjoy it, I think you’ve got some stylistic similarities. There’s a scene in there where he is driving through the city streets of Chicago with his friends and he’s so enraptured that he calls out, “I dig beauty!” I couldn’t agree more.

I don't, but I'll check it out. I haven't been very good at reading, lately, and I've never been good at reading short story collections, but I'll give it a try.

I enjoyed this memory, Amy. I can remember similar group joys with people who have never been together again. It feels good to think about a possible 'reunion' and acknowledgement. Thanks, and I look forward to reading more.

This is so beautiful, Amy! I love it. Now I have Sheryl Crow stuck in my head. :) "Did you know when you go it's the perfect ending..."
